If McDonald’s tops your list of foods you could eat for the rest of your life, you probably know all about the fast food chain’s McGold card (and wish you had one).
The little gold card entitles the cardholder to free food — sometimes for a year, sometimes for life. Some, like the one Bill Gates apparently has, are good all over the world, while others are good only in certain locations, like the one Warren Buffet has, which he can only use in Omaha. While it’s not only celebrities who have these magic cards (Charles Ramsey, who helped rescue three kidnapped women in 2013, was given one as well), you do have to be pretty special to get one.
That is — until now.
Now, for the first time ever, McDonald’s will be giving away a McGold card to a random customer — and this one is good for life. Or, to be more specific, two meals per week for 50 years.
For a chance to win, all you have to do is download the McDonald’s app, and then place an order via Mobile Order & Pay any time from Aug. 10 – Aug. 24. Each order you place counts as an entry into the contest, with a limit of one entry per day.
This first-ever, one-of-a-kind gold card will be in the form of a custom gold-plated phone case. And no, this doesn’t mean you just get a bunch of Big Macs. The prize is actually awarded as a $1,000 credit on the winner’s McDonald’s app and $35,400 cash, plus $15,600 to offset taxes on the prize, awarded as a check for $51,000. You can even choose a $1,000 cash alternative in lieu of the $1,000 app credit.
Will you be heading to McDonald’s to place an order and get a chance to win free food for life?
