The subject of Munchausen syndrome by proxy was recently mentioned on the Sharp ObjectsTV series but The Act describes this mental disease in a much deeper fashion and it is based on true events. This makes this series even more dramatic and fascinating.

This National Geographic TV series is inspired by true events and it tells the story of how the Ebola virus reaches the territory of the US with infected monkeys from Africa. The scientists have to find a way to stop the spread of the virus on 2 separate continents.
By the way, this story should have become a feature film in the 90s and was directed by Ridley Scott. But the project had script problems so it was suspended for some time. However, Ridley Scott took part in this TV series too, as an executive producer.
